Dr. Zhou received her medical degree in pediatrics from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1982. She finished her pediatric residency at Xin-Hua Children's Hospital, Shanghai, China in 1985. After her residency, she stayed in the same teaching hospital as Attending Pediatrician.
After coming to the US, she did research in molecular biology for more than 8 years, first at the Division of Endocrinology of Vanderbilt University and later at National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease of National Institutes of Health. She completed her US residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in 2001 and then did her pediatric endocrine fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and New York University School of Medicine. Before she came to the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore where she has been an Attending since 2006, she worked in a physician group in Westchester County for a few years.
Dr. Zhou is board certified for both pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. She takes care of patients with a wide range of endocrine disorders of puberty, growth, and adrenal glands, she has been an active research investigator in these areas with 16 publications. She teaches medical students, residents, and pediatric endocrine fellows in her fields. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York Medical College.
