Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Residency & Fellowship

Message from our Program Directors

Welcome to the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Montefiore, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

At Montefiore, we have a long tradition of being on the forefront of Vascular Surgery. The first endovascular aortic aneurysm repair in the United States was performed here in 1992 and our center has participated in some of the landmark aortic aneurysm trials. Additionally, there is a long history of limb salvage with pioneering work in tibial bypass. Our fellowship is one of the oldest fellowships in the country, training many who are leaders in the field today, and we are now fortunate to have an integrated training program since 2012.

We understand the rapid evolution of vascular surgery as a field and have long been at its forefront. An integral part of our program philosophy is our desire to:

  • Train hybrid surgeons, fully capable in all techniques and approaches in vascular and endovascular surgery.
  • Provide comprehensive vascular care to patients.
  • Graduate trainees with excellent clinical judgment, superior technical skills and the ability to critically appraise the literature.
  • Develop and prepare the next generation of leaders, innovators and teachers of our specialty.

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Montefiore faculty and team believe we truly have a unique training program. We are vested in providing well-rounded, hands on education and clinical research exposure to all of our trainees. With our large volume of critically ill and complex patients and pathologies and the collaborative approach to care across hospital specialties and services, our graduates are truly ready for anything.

We take pride in our graduates, and we appreciate your interest in our program. We look forward to meeting you in person and showing you all that the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Residency and Fellowship Program at Montefiore has to offer.
