Ways to Give
Toy Donations
Children at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, who are hospitalized or receive outpatient care, are often cheered up by receiving a toy or gift. Donations by community groups keep playrooms supplied and help make special celebrations possible. You and your group can help us by following our guidelines:
Contact our Child Life Department at 718-741-2556 for all donations of toys, goods and services related to the playrooms and other programs.
Please make sure that all donations are new and in their original wrapping and not gift-wrapped.
Donations should be appropriate for all of our age groups, from infants to teenagers. We care for children as young as a few days old to those who are 21. It is important that we consider the needs of all of our patients when donations are accepted.
We have created age-appropriate gift lists, which will assist you in selecting gifts to donate. Since we have a very diverse population, please do not bring any items of a religious nature.
Toys and games need to be safe for our patients. Stuffed animals or toys with small pieces that are easy to swallow cannot be accepted. Toys should be sturdy, not have sharp edges or pieces, and not be made of glass or easy-to-break plastic. All donations must meet established safety standards for recommendation ages.
*Please no toy guns or other weapons.
