Advanced Imaging at Montefiore

The Radiology Department at Montefiore offers a full range of the most advanced diagnostic imaging technologies available. Services include ultrasound, MRI, CT, interventional services, plain films and screening and diagnostic mammography. These services are available throughout our nine locations in the Bronx and Westchester. Our experienced team of radiologists conducts more than 450,000 radiologic examinations each year and provides expertise in a wide array of specialty fields within radiology. Almost all of our radiologists are on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, ensuring that Montefiore patients benefit from critical advances in radiology as they become available. Most important, our service-oriented environment always puts the patient first.

Technologically advanced care

As the only academic medical center in the Bronx, Montefiore offers its patients unparalleled inpatient and outpatient radiology services, and we are continually expanding our capacity to provide everything from routine X-rays to state-of-the-art CT, MRI, and ultrasound imaging. We currently operate 7 MRI machines and 11 CT scanners, including 4 cutting-edge 64-slice, ultra high-speed scanners. We have the capability to do virtual colonoscopy, coronary CT arteriograms, and interventional radiologic procedures.

And radiology operates with no barriers at Montefiore. The PACS system ensures that radiology images made at Montefiore can be viewed by your doctors everywhere within the Montefiore system, including the operating room. Bulky X-ray films that can be lost or damaged are a thing of the past. Your Montefiore doctor has access to your images anywhere, anytime, on ordinary hospital or medical office computers equipped with high-speed internet connections.
