Laboratory Services

We are proud to be one of the most established full service IVF programs in the New York City metropolitan area The laboratory services at Montefiore's Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Health (MIRMH) include a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic state-of-the-art technology in the treatment of infertility. Our laboratory suite consists of three laboratories, an operating room and a recovery room.

MIRMH’s laboratories have the distinction by compliance to be accredited by regulatory agencies including New York State Department of Health, Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP). The labs have the rare honor of having received full certification from CAP, the most stringent national accrediting body. Andrology Services:
Sperm washing for insemination 7 days a week
Complete semen analysis
Receipt and storage of donor sperm
Sperm freezing for infertile couples and for oncology patients
Sperm function testing and biochemical testing (viability, fructose, peroxidase staining)
Retrograde urine analysis and preparation of sperm

Embryology Services:
State-of-the-art IVF and ICSI procedures in a lab specifically designed and engineered to provide the purest air to support fertilization and culture of embryos

Our well qualified staff of embryologists contribute to the success of our In Vitro Fertilization Treatment (IVF) program with their knowledge and concern for the patient. In addition to our laboratory facility, we offer a fully staffed operating room suite where your patients will feel comfortable knowing they are close to home and being well cared for by our team of professionals.
