Established in the mid 1970s, the Ultrasound Division has been at the forefront of technology and clinical tests for nearly 40 years. The Division Chief, Dr. Mordecai Koenigsberg has 36 years of experience in this radiological field. The Division offers ultrasound examinations to evaluate and diagnose abdominal, gynecologic, obstetric, fetal, pediatric, thyroid, breast (performed by the Breast Imaging Division), scrotal, prostate, musculoskeletal and vascular pathology. Additionally, we perform various ultrasound interventions, such as: biopsies, aspirations and drainages. Biopsies include: liver, thyroid, pancreas, kidney, lymph nodes, salivary glands, abdominal masses and lesions, while drainages encompass cyst aspirations and draining abdominal and chest fluid collections with ultrasound guidance. We have American College of Radiology accreditation and work closely with the Emergency Department, medicine, surgery pediatrics, OBGYN, pathology, and all specialty services (e.g. urology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, etc.). We use state-of-the-art equipment and our dedicated fellowship-trained staff radiologists are some of the finest in the field. They maintain a close rapport with the referring physicians and are sensitive to the patients' concerns, taking care to explain each procedure that will be performed. Our talented technical staff of registered diagnostic medical sonographers put patients at ease during extensive examinations.
