Ranked as one of the top children's hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) carries a distinguished reputation for its family-centered environment and cutting edge care. Our pediatric radiologists conduct exams and interpret results for prenatal through adolescent patients at all stages of various illnesses and abnormalities, while limiting exposure to as much excess radiation as possible. Our staff is proficient using the full spectrum of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, angiography, urography, etc.) to make the correct diagnosis. Research is also a critical way in which we advance pediatric patient care. Current studies focus on the use of low-dose multi-detector CT to identify visceral fat in children, the use of emergent head CT in children with minor head trauma and comparing ultrasound and CT for the evaluation of pulmonary empyemas.
