Prizes and Awards
The Staff and Alumni Association supports the following prizes and awards:
Staff and Alumni Honorees
Two members of the medical staff and/or alumni of the medical center are selected who meet the following criteria:

Significant scientific or clinical contributions to the field of medicine,

Outstanding service to the medical center or to his/her present institution,
-
Collegiality and rapport with fellow professionals
-
Support of the Staff and Alumni Association.
Current members of the Association are invited to nominate candidates in June. Honorees are chosen in September and presented at the spring Dinner Dance and Awards Night the following March.
Outstanding House Officer Award
Two members of the house staff, preferably in their graduate year of training, are chosen who meet the following criteria.

Clinical acumen and skills,
-
Compassion for patients’ needs, and
-
Rapport with fellow professionals.
Members of the Montefiore Medical Staff and invited to nominate candidates in mid-September. Presented at the spring Dinner Dance and Awards Night. A prize of $250 is offered. For additional information and a nomination form, click here.
Henry L. Moses Prize Competition
Up to four awards are given annually, two for papers in the basic sciences and two for papers in clinical medicine. Announcements are sent in September with a deadline for submission of papers in early November. For additional information, please contact Leopold G. Staff and Alumni Prize
A cash prize is given to a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine pursuing residency training at the medical center. Criteria include scholarship, financial need, and community service. Chosen by a sub-committee of the Executive Committee, it is presented in November at the Association’s annual House Staff Career Night program.
