Office of Clinical Trials

The Montefiore Medical Center Office of Clinical Trials (MMC OCT) was officially designated on July 1, 1998. The goal of the MMC OCT is to facilitate the conduct of pharmaceutical and device clinical trials using good clinical practices (GCPs) by expeditiously providing a range of services including:

• Legal and contract consultation and review
• IRB processing
• Acting as liaison between sponsors and investigators from initial contact through project completion
• Budget preparation consultation
• Financial accounting
• Facilitating networking among investigators and departments
• Apprising investigators of clinical trials opportunities

The OCT prides itself in its open and honest relationships with sponsors. The OCT works with sponsors to site clinical trials with the best investigators/teams and  to  assure that every effort is made to successfully complete trials according to protocol and contract requirements. When trials are not feasible, i.e., insufficient number of eligible patients, the trial will not be undertaken.
