The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) facilitates every aspect of the investigator’s research and provides oversight for the following:

  • Institutional Review Board for Protection of Human Subjects (IRB), Scientific Review, Risk/Benefit Analysis, Informed Consent Review, Annual Recertification, Adverse Events Review, Amendments Review, Emergency Use Approvals.
  • Institutional Animal Care and Usage Committee ( IACUC), Animal Purchases, Housing, Feeding, Cleaning, Disposal, Surgery, Technician Training. To visit the Montefiore IACUC website click here.
  • Oversight of Patent Committee, Radiation Safety Committee, and Biohazards Committee.
  • Office of Clinical Trials (OCT), Member of Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY), an academic research organization.
  • Facilitating investigators’ work by acting as liaison with funding agencies, including federal, regional, state, foundations, industry and other public and private sources.
  • Providing appropriate forms for grant applications including NIH grants application packets. Consulting with grant application budget process.
  • Providing new investigator incentive awards.
  • Acting as liaison with Legal Affairs.
  • Establishing and administering research project accounts for investigators.
