Management Opportunities in Nursing

Administrative Nurse Managers (ANM) manage all administrative and clinical functions – including fiscal, material and human resources – of specific nursing unit(s) on a 24-hour basis and develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence.

Assistant Directors of Nursing (ADN) are responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of departmental systems and delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient on evening, night or weekend shifts. They are responsible for all administrative issues and the coordination of fiscal, human and other resources needed to provide patient care.

Nursing Opportunities

Registered Nurses (RN) are responsible for the coordination, implementation and delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient. The RN is the patient advocate who demonstrates critical thinking and judgement, coordinates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, participates in research activities and demonstrates leadership skills.

Care Management Coordinators (CMC) assure the development, implementation and coordination of a plan of care for a designated patient population through collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Nurse Practitioners (NP) assess and provide care to a selected group of patients in collaboration with physicians, and are responsible for carrying out their patients' plan of care.

Home Health Nurses (HHN) and Certified Home Health Care Program (CHHA)
The HHN conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments to acute and chronically ill patients of all ages, coordinates the home health interdisciplinary care team, and collaborates with team members on a regular basis to facilitate the interdisciplinary planning, management and evaluation of home health services. 

Home Care Coordinators (HCC), Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP) are responsible for the collaboration with all interdisciplinary team members to facilitate the interdisciplinary planning, management and coordination of health services for patients.

Fee-For-Service (FFS), CHHA & LTHHCP conduct initial and ongoing assessments to acutely and chronically ill patients in the home setting and teach the patient/ family/care-giver to manage medication, illness and treatments.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are responsible for the delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient within their scope of practice.

Nursing Attendants (NA) assist the professional staff by performing duties including assisting/supervising daily living activities such as eating, bathing and ambulating as appropriate for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult or elderly patient under the guidance of a registered nurse.
