Our Organizational Structure

The organizational structure of directs professional nursing practice throughout Montefiore Medical Center's integrated network.

Vice President of Clinical Services/Chief Nurse Executive reports to the Senior Vice President of the Acute Care Division. This individual is responsible for nursing professional practice standards throughout the Acute and Ambulatory Care Divisions except for Home Health Care. As a member of the executive team, this individual participates in the strategic planning for the medical center, and is a member of the Medical Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Medical Quality Council.

Clinical Directors of Nursing have responsibility for units/programs within their respective Care Centers. They have nursing administrative responsibility for all patient care units within the Acute Care Division and consultative/liaison responsibility to provide an informational link for professional practice and standards of care throughout the integrated delivery system. They are also responsible for environmental, transportation and dietary services on the patient care units.

Director of Nursing Informatics and Special Projects integrates nursing, computers and information science to design, plan, implement and evaluate systems and processes. This position also supports professional practice through the use of technological advancement across the continuum of care.

Director of Education and Organizational Development oversees and coordinates, with Division faculty, education, training and consultation including new associate orientation; management and leadership development; competency identification, development and review; strategic planning; and team building initiatives. In addition, this Division offers consultation in a range of areas including research, RN sabbaticals, management and leadership symposia, and paraprofessional training and upgrade.

Administrative Nurse Manager has twenty-four hour responsibility for management and clinical care of the patient and the unit. This position reports to the appropriate Clinical Director of Nursing.

Assistant Directors of Nursing have administrative and clinical oversight responsibility for all patient care units on evenings, weekends and holidays.
