Musculoskeletal Disorders
Musculoskeletal outpatient services at Montefiore Medical Center are provided for a wide range of conditions that result in pain and/or disability. In addition to services provided by the Attending physician staff there are general and specialized outpatient clinics in which resident physicians are supervised by full-time or voluntary Attending staff. General Rehabilitation Medicine Clinics are held three times weekly for treatment of uncomplicated bone, muscle and joint disorders, and referral to specialized assessment and care.
In addition to acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, this service can provide ergonomic assessment and intervention, arts medicine treatment plans for musculoskeletal problems of performing artists, and sports medicine programs for athletic rehabilitation or performance enhancement. Therapies are supplemented by complementary/alternative medicine techniques. Several faculty members are proficient in acupuncture and botanical medicine.
