Residency

The residency training program of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine was established in 1955 and has a long history of leadership in this specialty.  It offers a fully accredited comprehensive training which prepares physicians to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a physiatrist.  The Department is committed to providing excellent didactic and clinical education in a large and diverse demographic and multi-institutional setting.  This commitment has resulted in a comprehensive program that consistently meets ACGME and American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation requirements.

The Program is located within New York City in the North Bronx, with close proximity to­ Westchester county.  There are a wide variety of attractions in the surrounding area, rapid access to the beaches on Long Island, the attractions of upstate New York and of course, the richness and diversity of New York City.
