Neuroradiology

Montefiore Medical Center was the first hospital in New York to perform endovascular embolizations for aneurysms in the early 1990s and the first in the tri-state area to perform vertoplasty. Establishing a reputation for cutting-edge treatments for conditions such as acute stroke, aneurysms and back pain begins with a highly skilled staff and a correct diagnosis for each patient. Our board certified staff of 10 neuroradiologists draws on their many years of experience as well as a wealth of state-of-the-art technological resources to precisely interpret noninvasive imaging studies and to perform neurointerventional procedures. These include myelography, angiography, spinal and cerebral embolizations, stroke, intervention, vertebroplasty, and CT-guided biopsies. Additionally, our staff has access to 3-Tesla MRI, open MRI, 64-slice multidector CT, MR Spectroscopy, MR Perfusion, functional MRI, Diffusion Tensor Imaging, SPECT/CT, PET/CT and 3D-digital subtraction angiography. To provide the best possible patient care, we work in close collaboration with our neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, psychiatry and general medical and pediatric colleagues and have daily multidisciplinary conferences.
