Abdominal Radiology
This newly accredited one year fellowship in Abdominal Radiology includes a curriculum of five months of combined CT/MR, three months of GI/GU imaging, three months of Ultrasonography, and one month of Nuclear Medicine. The goal of this program is to provide comprehensive multi modality training in Abdominal Radiology, to include conventional radiology, CT, US, MR imaging, nuclear medicine and some interventional methods as they apply to the GI and GU systems as well as the intraperitoneal and extraperitoneal organs.
After completion of the program, a trainee is expected to be proficient in multiple imaging modalities and have a clear understanding of the unique role of each diagnostic procedure for diseases of the abdomen and pelvis. Expertise in abdominal imaging will develop through daily, supervised hands-on experience, didactic lectures, departmental and interdepartmental conferences, teaching and research activities. The program includes education in normal and pathologic anatomy of the abdomen and pelvis, normal physiology of the GI and GU systems, and pathophysiology of GI and GU disease.
