Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

The Department is proud to announce that the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has formally approved the initiation of a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology /Infertility with two fellows per year beginning in July 1999 and Dr. Nanette Santoro is the Fellowship Director.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center provide a unique opportunity for fellows to be trained in both research and clinical Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. During the course of the fellowship the fellows are expected to achieve all goals outlined in the ABOG Guide to Learning Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), to assume progressive responsibility for REI patients, and to be fully capable of independent clinical and research pursuits. The program will provide a basis for an academic career in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health founded in research and teaching while affording strong clinical exposure in Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility.

The rich assortment of available faculty in the basic sciences at AECOM and the clinical sciences at MMC assure the fellows the opportunity to avail themselves fully of the spectrum of pathways of investigation in the field of REI. The presence of a high quality, high volume clinical facility guarantees adequate exposure of all fellows to all aspects of the subspecialty. The foundation of the fellowship program is built on Dr. Santoro’s prior program experience and the solid well established Division of Reproductive Endocrinology developed and headed by Dr. David Barad at MMC over the past 13 years.

Applicants must have successfully completed at least four years of an accredited (ACGME) residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology. All applicants must demonstrate that they are fully qualified for medical licensure in New York State.
