Dr. Bello practices diagnostic pediatric and adult neuroradiology, head and neck radiology and interventional neuroradiology for cerebrovascular disease and spinal pain management. Her clinical research has been in epilepsy and in neurovascular complications of sickle cell disease.

Biography:
Dr. Bello received her BA degree, Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College in 1976 and her MD degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1980. She completed her Radiology Residency at the Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University and her Neuroradiology Fellowship at the Neurological Institute of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. She was recruited by Montefiore’s Radiology Department in May of 1990 to direct the division of Neuroradiology and establish a subspecialty fellowship training program. She has trained over 25 fellows to date and has grown the division to a faculty of nine. Dr. Bello was named Teacher of the Year by the Radiology Departments of Columbia and Montefiore. She is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and immediate past president of the New York State Radiological Society.

Dr. Bello serves as the physician representative for Continuous Quality Improvement in the Department of Radiology at Montefiore. In 2009, Dr. Bello was honored by the Montefiore Staff Alumni Association and received the Columbia College of P&S gold medal for meritorious service to their alumni association and was a Columbia University Alumni Medalist a well.
