Our Organizational Structure

Our organizational structure guides the practice of professional nursing throughout Montefiore's integrated network.

Vice President of Clinical Services/Chief Nurse Executive

The Vice President of Clinical Services/Chief Nurse Executive reports to the Senior Vice President of the Acute Care Division. The Vice President manages nursing professional practice standards throughout the Acute and Ambulatory Care Divisions for all nurses, with the exception of Home Care nurses. As a member of the executive team, he or she participates in all strategic planning and is a member of the Medical Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Medical Quality Council.

Clinical Directors of Nursing

Clinical Directors of Nursing manage units/programs within their respective care centers. They provide nurses information on standards of care and professional practice through Montefiore's institution-wide delivery system, and manage administrative matters regarding care in all patient care units within the Division of Acute Care. The clinical directors are accountable for environmental, transportation and dietary services available to patients.

Director of Nursing Informatics and Special Projects

The Director of Nursing Informatics and Special Projects integrates nursing, computers and information science to design, plan, implement and evaluate systems and processes. The director also supports professional practice through use of health information technology and other communication tools that link our hospitals and physicians with their patients' information.

Director of Education and Organizational Development

The Director of Education and Organizational Development oversees and coordinates, in cooperation with the Division faculty, all of the following areas:

  • Competency identification, development and review
  • Education, training and consultation, including new associate orientation management and leadership development
  • Strategic planning
  • Team-building initiatives

In addition, the Division faculty offer consultations in a range of areas, including:

  • Management and leadership symposia
  • Paraprofessional training and upgrade
  • Registered nurse sabbaticals
  • Research

Administrative Nurse Managers

Administrative Nurse Managers have 24-hour responsibility for management and clinical care of the patient and the unit. The administrative managers report to the appropriate clinical director of nursing.

Assistant Directors of Nursing

Assistant Directors of Nursing are responsible for administrative and clinical oversight responsibility for all patient care on evenings, weekends and holidays.
