Montefiore Sponsors Day Camp This Week at Lehman College

NEW YORK, NY, August 15, 2005 – Thirty children with diabetes are able to enjoy
the sports and activities that other kids do at summer camp, all this week at the Diabetes Support Group’s Summer Day Camp of The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore.  The camp is taking place daily from 9 AM to 4 PM Monday August 15 through Friday August 19 at the APEX Athletic Facility at Lehman College, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard in the Bronx.  The children are able to pursue sports, crafts, and other camping activities in a medically supervised environment, while also receiving education about diet and other therapeutic information, to help them manage their conditions.  Photo, print and broadcast coverage is invited, but must be arranged in advance by calling Mike Quane, Montefiore Public Relations, at (718) 920-5776.
