Four-Mile Saturday Morning Trek Is Part of “Bronx Week” Celebration
Montefiore Medical Center will sponsor its Third Annual “Family Health Walk,” on Saturday June 18, starting at 10 AM from the 242nd Street & Broadway Subway Station at Van Cortland Park, and ending four miles later at The Bronx Zoo. The free event, part of “Bronx Week,” a borough-wide celebration of “The Best of the Bronx” June 18 – 26, will go through Van Cortlandt Park, along Gun Hill Road (with a Montefiore “water stop” at approximately 11:30 AM), to Mosholou Parkway, Bronx Park, and the Bronx Botanical Gardens, before arriving at about 1:30 PM at the Zoo, where free admission will be provided to the walkers. Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr., will “start Bronx Week off on the right foot” by kicking off the event at 10 AM. Registration is at 9:30 AM

Chief, Critical Care Medicine
We treat the most fragile patients in Montefiore’s medical, surgical, neurological and cardiothoracic intensive care units, but critical care at Montefiore also extends beyond those areas. Our unique "ICU Without Walls" service is a rapid response team of intensivists and respiratory therapists who are on call 24/7 to evaluate and treat patients in need of critical care in other areas of the hospital.
