New York City, NY (JUNE 14, 2005) -- Pearce Gilmore, a ten-year-old child from Derry, Northern Ireland, will leave for home at 3 PM on Tuesday, June 14 from an apartment at Montefiore Medical Center, following recent life-saving brain surgery at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. His surgeon, Dr. Rick Abbott, removed a tumor from Pearce's brain stem. The parents, who were told in Northern Ireland that Pearce's tumor was inoperable, had located Dr. Abbott on the internet.
