"Montefiore is honored to have been named among the top medical centers in the nation in caring for critically ill patients," said Spencer Foreman, M.D., president of Montefiore Medical Center. "It is truly gratifying to have The Montefiore Critical Care Medicine Service honored this way," said Vladimir Kvetan, M.D., Director of Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore. Dr. Kvetan, who is also a Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, added: "Our clinical and training program has been a leader in the ICU field, and recognition that national implementation of our standard would save thousands of lives, provide lower complication rates, and cut costs of intensive care affirms the vision and hard work of our team of intensivists, nurses, fellows and administrative staff."
