The new facility – known as The Albert Einstein Cancer Center at Montefiore Medical Park – will be located at 1695 Eastchester Road in the East Bronx.
The 13,000 square-foot facility will have two major service areas: one for chemotherapy/infusion treatment and the other for physician offices for medical and surgical oncology visits. It will also include laboratory and pharmacy facilities, and patient programs such as psycho-social support groups and nutritional guidance.
"We determined that our previous space was not sufficient for developing an ambulatory care facility to house the full spectrum of services we offer, " said Spencer Foreman, MD, president of Montefiore. "This handsome new site will allow patients to combine physician visits, treatment, and support services at one location."
Montefiore ’s extensive clinical cancer program functions as an integral part of the Albert Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Center is one of 35 in the nation designated and funded by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. Many of the physicians practicing at the new facility hold faculty appointments at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
