Montefiore Medical Center takes a family-centered approach to patient care. Along with keeping family members informed and educated about a patient's condition, we make it easy for family members and friends to support a patient through visits, calls and even by giving blood, when needed. Unless noted, all information applies for the Moses Division, the Weiler Division, and the North Division hospitals.
Each patient has a phone at the bedside. All incoming calls are free to the patient.
To ensure cards and flowers get to the correct patient, please include the following on all deliveries:
|
Moses Division |
Weiler Division |
North Division |
|
PATIENT'S NAME |

Family and friends are welcome to eat with patients.
Visitors may also eat in the hospital cafeterias, in the Coffee Shop in the Moses lobby, the Nosh Mobile in the Weiler lobby or the Java coffee shop in the North lobby. In addition, there are many restaurants in the neighborhoods around all hospitals.
Family members or friends who match a patient's blood type may donate blood to be received by the patient. In the case of surgery, the blood must be drawn at least five working days before the date of the procedure to allow time for processing for transfusion. Donated blood may be saved for no more than 35 days. Contact the Blood Donor Service with questions or to make an appointment at 718-920-4810. Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
