Education Program

All education programs have been consolidated and will occur on Friday mornings, between 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Masters of Surgery

These lectures will occur on the first Friday of every month at the Cherkasky Auditorium. The lectures will offer practicing physicians and nurses current information on the latest topics and controversies in surgery.

Grand Rounds

Grand Rounds presentations feature local, national, and international experts who give presentations in their specific areas of expertise.

Morbidity and Mortality Conference

These weekly conferences are held across all campuses of the Montefiore System.

SCORE Conference

The Surgical Council on Resident Education (SCORE) is a consortium formed in 2006 by the principal organizations involved in U.S. surgical education (ABS, ACS, ASA, APDS, RRC, SAGES, and ASE). SCORE's mission is to improve the education of general surgery residents in the United States through the development of a standard national curriculum for general surgery residency training. This is a resident-organized conference with faculty facilitators. Learn more about SCORE.

Montefiore Institute of Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIMIS)

MIMIS is an on-site, comprehensive, state-of-the-art minimally invasive training center that houses the latest technologies in both laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. A schedule of training sessions has been arranged to facilitate passing of the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) exam and the Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES) exam. These sessions are proctored by board-certified MIS physicians as well as a dedicated staff at MIMIS . Montefiore has been designated as a testing site for both FLS and FES.
