Our Dedication to Patients in Need of Financial Assistance
Montefiore has consistently remained at the forefront in establishing leading-edge Financial Assistance programs for our patients. Montefiore's current program, which includes a multi-lingual information and counseling component, was recently updated in December 2015. These changes are part of our efforts to remain compliant with 501R regulations and our transition to a Single Billing Office.
Having Trouble Paying Medical Bills?
Montefiore Medical Center has a policy that establishes guidelines for our billing office to follow when working with individuals who are having difficulty paying their medical bills.
If you have recently been a patient at Montefiore and are having trouble paying your bill, please tell us and we may be able to help. Click here for more information on financial services.
If you know that you will be a patient at Montefiore, it is important to plan ahead for financial coverage of your medical bills.
If you do not have health insurance, we can assist you in obtaining medicaid, low cost health insurance or you may qualify for charity care assistance based on your income and family size.
If your health insurance coverage benefits do not adequately cover your medical expenses, we can work with you to arrange a manageable payment plan.
Therefore, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible that you may have trouble paying your bill.
Your situation will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and courtesy.
