Montefiore in the Community in Pictures

Montefiore's physicians, nurses and other front-line experts are often called upon to take healthcare straight to members of the communities we serve. To do this, we join forces with local businesses, political leaders, community organizers as well as patients and families to make vital healthcare resources and information more accessible. The result typically looks like family-friendly fun, but it's more than that: it's a hands-on approach to care, education and outreach that helps people get well and stay healthy. Below you can check out some of our recent community-focused events.

A Season for Giving

We teamed up with the NYPD's 52nd Precinct earlier this month for a holiday gift drive. Your generosity allowed us to donate over 155 gifts to the grandkids of the members of Grandmother's Love Over Violence—a support group of Bronx grandparents who are raising their grandkids. Thank you for your support this holiday season!

Salud en la Comunidad

To kick-off American Diabetes Month we joined together with Univision and Novo Nordisk to bring to you an event with interactive diabetes prevention workshops, healthy eating demonstrations and more.

The 20th Annual Tour de Bronx

Did you ride in this year's Tour De Bronx?
Members of team Montefiore had a blast celebrating the 20th anniversary of this quintessential Bronx event on Sunday.

Riverdale Festival and Food Drive

Thank you for all those that donated nonperishable food items for the Riverdale Festival and Food Drive. We had a great day with the local community providing free blood pressure screening and distributing health education information.

13th Annual Jermone-Gun Hill BID Festival

We had an amazing time at the 13th Annual Jerome-Gun Hill BID Festival! Our Health Expo booths served over 6,000 individuals and families providing health information from Dentistry, Food Allergy, the School Health Program and more.
