Montefiore's highly skilled and compassionate obstetric staff welcomed nearly 5,200 babies in 2007. Collaboration with the members of the entire obstetrical team is crucial and a credit to our delivery of high quality care and safe discharge of mothers and infants.

We are currently recruiting for full time and per diem positions in our Mother/Baby unit and per diem positions for Labor and Delivery and NICU. NYS RN license, BLS, and a minimum of one year of OB, L&D or NICU experience is preferred for full time position (required for per diem positions).

Mother/Baby

The Mother/Baby Nursing Team at Montefiore is challenging but rewarding. You will care for mothers, newborns and high-risk antepatum patients experiencing complications of pregnancy. Our newly renovated, 49-bed unit consists of single rooms with private baths. Patient education is an important part of your interactions with the patients and their families.

Labor and Delivery

Experience obstetrical nursing at its finest. As part of our dynamic Labor and Delivery team you will deliver quality care to high-risk obstetrical patients in a state-of-the-art setting. The obstetrical unit includes: a 5 bedded triage area, 10 LDR's with private bath, 3 operating rooms and a PACU that accommodates up to 4 patients.

NICU

Our level IV NICU has been a regional perinatal center since 2002. Most babies admitted to the NICU are premature (born before 37 weeks of pregnancy), have low birth weight (less than 5.5 pounds), or have a medical condition that requires special care. Twins, triplets, and other multiples often are admitted to the NICU, as they tend to be born earlier and smaller than single birth babies. Babies with medical conditions such as heart problems, infections, or birth defects are also cared for in the NICU.
