Currently Dr. Ghavamian is participating in several prostate cancer clinical trials and is investigating how robotic surgery compares to laparoscopic procedures in an effort to advance techniques and therapies for treating urologic diseases.

Dr. Ghavamian serves as Director, Surgical Robotics Program; Director, Urologic Oncology; and Professor, Urology, Montefiore and Einstein. His major clinical interest is the minimally invasive treatment of urologic cancer. Dr. Ghavamian was educated in Boston, where he completed his undergraduate and graduate medical education. He obtained his surgical and urologic training at the University of Massachusetts and the Great Ormand Street Hospital, London. Dr. Ghavamian completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic and joined the Montefiore and Einstein faculty in 1997. Dr. Ghavamian is an accomplished surgeon who accepts challenging cases referred to him from multiple centers in New England and the mid-Atlantic region. Dr. Ghavamian sees patients at the Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care and the Medical Arts Pavilion on the Moses Campus.
