- Biography
Dr. Lim, a board-certified pediatrician, is a full-time faculty member of the Division of General Pediatrics. She has been working at the Family Care Center since completing her training, and she is involved in patient care, teaching pediatric residents and medical students, and research and administrative duties. She has a special interest in adolescent medicine, and her clinical expertise in adolescent medicine has led her to oversee the teen parenting program, in which a multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive services to young adolescent mothers and their infants. Under her supervision, postdoctoral fellows in adolescent medicine, pediatric residents and medical students rotate through this program during their elective month in Adolescent Medicine. Her research interests are in adolescent reproductive health, sexually transmitted diseases and adolescents’ views on mental health and related issues. She has published and presented work on partner notification by adolescent girls with chlamydia, Depot-Provera use in urban area minority adolescents, prescribing patterns of emergency contraception to teens by pediatric residents, and adolescents’ views of primary care providers as a resource for mental health.
