- With high rates of obesity and diabetes in the Bronx, Dr. Choi sees many opportunities to evaluate the long-term benefits of bariatric surgery in this population. She intends to study the long-term benefits of bariatric surgery among underprivileged group
- Biography
- Jenny J. Choi, MD, is a board certified surgeon trained in both general and bariatric surgical procedures. After earning her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Dr. Choi went on to complete a residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Choi then pursued a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Columbia University Medical Center/Cornell University. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Choi joined Harlem Hospital Center in 2009, where she further developed her skills in bariatric surgery and also her interest in expanding surgical care to underserved populations.
