EvanSchwecter, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction. He also focuses on complex joint replacement in young adults, emerging technology in arthroplasty, as well as direct anterior approach hip replacement, an alternative to total hip replacement. Dr. Scwechter also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Dr. Schwechter served his internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center where he was honored with the Richard Selznick Memorial Research award. He then completed his fellowship training in adult joint reconstruction surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Schwechter’s research has been published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS) and the Journal of Arthroplasty (JOA) and other major orthopaedic journals as well as having been presented at prestigious national meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
