- A graduate of Princeton University and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Research Associate at the National Institute of Health, Dr. Ruben’s research and writing have been focused on developmental biology, otology, pediatrics otolaryngology and the history of medicine. Recognized for his vast contributions to the field, he is a recipient of the Edmund Prince Fowler Award from the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, the Schrelber Gold Medal of the National Association of the Deaf and the Award of Merit of the American Otological Society. Dr. Ruben founded the first scientific journal devoted to pediatric otolaryngology in 1978, the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, for which he serves as Editor-in-Chief.
