- Dr. Gaglio received his B.A. in Physiology and Italian from Rutgers College and his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He completed an internship and residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, NY, and Digestive Disease/Liver Transplantation fellowship at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Gaglio served as the Medical Co-Director of the Liver Transplantation Program at Tulane University Medical School from 1996 to 2001. He was the Medical Director of Adult Liver Transplantation and Associate Medical Director of the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Columbia University Medical Center from 2001 to 2007. In December 2007, Dr Gaglio joined the faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine to assist in establishing a new liver transplantation program at the Montefiore Medical Center, and was promoted to Professor of Clinical Medicine. Author of multiple manuscripts, book chapters and abstracts, he has also participated in numerous research trials related to the therapy of Hepatitis B and C, liver transplantation, and treatment of liver failure.
