NEW YORK (March 12, 2015) – Researchers from Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine will present findings from studies exploring  the treatment and diagnosis of dermatologic conditions including skin cancer, lupus and wound healing at the 73rd  Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology March 21 – March 24 in San Francisco at The Moscone Center. 

“Our division is excited to present our findings this year addressing common and rare dermatologic conditions that impact diverse populations,” said Adam Friedman M.D., director of dermatologic research, Montefiore and Einstein, and assistant professor of Dermatology, Einstein. The breadth of data and case studies we will present is a product of our commitment to contribute to advances in dermatology.   Montefiore and Einstein faculty, physicians and residents will be participating in ten posters, nine oral case presentations and six faculty lectures. We look forward to an engaging scientific exchange with the international dermatology community.”

Selected research to be presented by Montefiore/Einstein investigators include:

The bumpy underside of buttock augmentation: Silicone granuloma and atypical mycobacteria infection in the setting of cosmetic fillers.  
This presentation covers gluteal implants with fillers and possible infections that can occur.
