Multiple Research Studies to be Presented on Topics Important
 to Child Health Including Autism and Obesity   

NEW YORK (May 2, 2014) – Investigators from The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University will present findings from more than 40 research studies at the upcoming Pediatric Academic Societies and Asian Society for Pediatric Research (PAS/ASPR) Joint Meeting being held May 3 – 6, 2014 in Vancouver, Canada. 

“The diversity and excellence of the research being presented to an international audience, from basic science discoveries to clinical trials, underscore our dedication to improving child health across a wide range of disciplines and diseases,” said Judy Aschner, M.D., physician-in-chief, CHAM, professor of Pediatrics and Michael I. Cohen, M.D., University Chair, Einstein. “Additionally, many of the findings to be presented have particular significance for the disadvantaged and under-represented children we serve and provide important insights into the unmet medical needs in these pediatric populations.”

This year's meeting will feature invited lectures, scientific and ethical debates, platform and poster presentations made by nationally and internationally renowned experts in pediatric research. Presentations from Montefiore/Einstein investigators will cover a wide range of behavioral and clinical topics including ADHD, autism, diabetes, and obesity, as well as insights into the disease landscapes for minority and low-income populations. 

Among many Montefiore/Einstein faculty presenters and session moderators, Dr. Aschner will discuss the use of biomarkers of pulmonary disease in preterm infants in a presentation during the State of the Art Plenary Session at 8:15 a.m. PDT on Saturday, May 3.
