Moses Campus

The Moses Campus serves as Montefiore’s largest tertiary care center, where our anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists work across 23 operating rooms in addition to providing services during a range of non-OR anesthesia procedures such as cardiac arrythmia, cardiac catheterization, interventional neuroradiology and vascular radiology, advanced endoscopic medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and MRI.

Home to the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and the Montefiore Einstein Center for Transplantation, the Moses Campus serves a diverse range of patients coming to us with a variety of surgical needs. Our anesthesiologists are trained in a range of sub-specialties including pediatric anesthesia, adult cardiothoracic anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, advanced airway management, and transplant anesthesia. The Montefiore Einstein Center for Transplantation is one of the most active and successful programs in the country and the transplant division has gathered an exceptional group of adult and pediatric anesthesiologists who work closely with transplant surgeons throughout the perioperative period.

At Montefiore’s Moses Campus, our team of anesthesiologists manage the Perioperative Medicine Clinic, preparing patients for surgery and providing the highest quality care during surgery and through post-operative recovery. Our anesthesiologists use the latest anesthetic techniques placing patients’ needs as the highest priority. As we are a teaching hospital, our attending physicians focus on mentoring anesthesiology residents in addition to conducting clinical research that allows us to provide effective, patient-centric care. Our physicians also work closely with Montefiore’s in-house pharmacy to utilize value-added medicine that leads to better outcomes for patients.

Our team of anesthesiologists are invested in the education of residents, fellows, and rotating medical students and ensure they gain excellent clinical experience in the field of acute pain medicine and peripheral nerve block services. Wakefield’s anesthesiology team always puts patients first throughout the perioperative process, ensuring they have the most comfortable recovery possible, reduced pain, and an improved quality of life.

Located on the Albert Einstein College of Medicine campus, Weiler Hospital is a 403-bed tertiary care hospital that focuses on educational excellence. Our team of anesthesiologists perform a range of services including general anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, and cardiothoracic anesthesia, treating approximately 500 patients each month.

We work closely with the surgical team to implement an efficient, interdepartmental approach to caring for our patients. The Anesthesiology team at Weiler has developed and implemented a unique OR management methodology and a cross-departmental educational approach that involves residents from the Department of Surgery in order to provide the most comprehensive quality of care.

Weiler Hospital is also home to a high-risk obstetric division, which is an Accreta Center of Excellence. With our focus on education, the Department of Anesthesiology’s Obstetric Anesthesia Fellowship is based at Weiler Hospital, where the fellow is exposed to a wide range of complex obstetric patients.
