Mentoring is an important component of our program. Each resident is partnered with a plastic surgery attending with whom they will meet on a regular basis during their integrated six-year plastic surgery program at Montefiore. The mentor serves as a resource for a wide range of issues, such as providing professional and personal guidance to residents in negotiating the challenges of surgical residency training, as well as career guidance. While residents are paired with a mentor, we encourage residents to seek guidance from other faculty members in additional to their formal mentors.
