Body Contouring

The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Montefiore provides our patients with a full complement of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical options. Our surgeons are among the best in the country, and offer the finest treatment available, paired with compassionate and extensive patient care, for a range of procedures.

Montefiore has developed and perfected a number of body-contouring procedures for patients who have experienced significant weight loss with gastric bypass surgery. Our advancements with the full body-lift allow us to cut surgical time in half and minimize scars.

In addition, the Division has made vast improvements in circumferential abdominoplasty, a procedure by which we trim the excess ring of skin encircling the waist after serious weight loss. We also perform thigh-lifts, face-lifts and neck-lifts to remove sagging and excess skin.

Surgery of the Abdomen (Abdominoplasty)

Popularly called a "tummy tuck," this procedure removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tightens the abdominal wall muscles.

Breast-Lift (Mastopexy)

Our staff helps restore the breast's shape and position, which may have shifted as a result of gravity. We also perform mastopexy following a mastectomy to ensure the best match between the newly reconstructed breast and the original breast.

Arm-Lift for Sagging Skin (Brachioplasty)

Montefiore developed a highly advanced technique for the surgical treatment of excess sagging skin under the arms, commonly known as "bat wings."

Liposuction (Suction-Assisted Lipectomy)

Liposuction removes unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body, including the chin, neck, upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
