Assn. of American Medical Colleges Board Meeting: Dr. Safyer Introduces Senator Schumer
Steven M. Safyer, MD, President and CEO of Montefiore, introduced Senator Charles Schumer at the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems in Washington, DC.
Senator Schumer is a long-standing and tireless champion of academic medicine and the Affordable Care Act.

To help local teens make important career decisions, Einstein students established the Einstein Science High School Mentoring Program, known as EiSci, three years ago. Joseph A. Sparano, MD, Director, Breast Medical Oncology, Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care is well known for his pioneering research using molecular and genetic profiling for diagnosing and treating breast cancer, lymphoma and HIV-associated cancers. But he is especially proud of his efforts to enroll greater numbers of minorities in cancer clinical trials.
